tea and cake decorating workshop- winter 2019
I held this workshop alongside an old friend, and huge tea enthusiast, in the cafe next to his small studio in the Adelaide Hills. He showed us all how to brew authentic Indian chai and then I demonstrated my cake decorating techniques as we sipped spicy-sweet cups of tea. Then everyone set to decorating, chatting and drinking more tea. It was a beautiful afternoon, full of creativity, conversation and cake.
Participants built and decorated their mini layer cakes with buttercream and fruit curd made from scratch by me, then topped them off with beautiful, locally grown organic blooms. They took these cakes home with them, alongside a bag of tea goodies, my cake recipe and best baking tips and tricks.

Participants filled and decorated their mini layer cakes with fruit curd and buttercream made from scratch, and then topped with them beautiful, locally grown organic blooms. They took these cakes home, along with some other goodies.

midsummer cake and watercolour workshop - feb 2020
This workshop was a collaboration with local watercolour artist Jasmine Smith, held in her light filled Adelaide Hills studio. I brought cake, which I decorated live whilst explaining my technique and answering questions. After that, Jasmine led participants through creating their own watercolour painting of the cake, which they took home after the class.
After the painting session we gathered back around the table to eat the cake, drink tea and chat about creativity. All materials and snack were provided, and it was a beautiful afternoon of gentle, mindful creativity and exploration.

summer supper

This beautiful, slow dinner celebrated the best local, seasonal produce with an abundance of delicious vegetarian food. Guests arrived, wandered through the gardens and took in the view, before sitting down to a family style meal crafted with love, by me. There was local wine, lots of chatting and laughter and, by the end of the night, happy faces and full tummies.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate the seasonal shift, and all that summer brought us.
